Metals Recovered from Black Mass

Black mass from spent Lithium-Ion batteries contains several valuable metals. Our pilot plant systems are designed to support recovery of these metals through suitable hydrometallurgical routes.

Cobalt

Cobalt is a high-value metal used in several Lithium-Ion battery chemistries. Recovery of cobalt from black mass improves resource efficiency and reduces dependence on primary mining.

Nickel

Nickel is widely used in high-energy battery chemistries. Hydrometallurgical processing enables nickel recovery from spent battery materials for further refining or reuse.

Lithium

Lithium recovery is important for the battery supply chain. It may be recovered in suitable forms depending on the selected process chemistry and downstream requirements.

Manganese

Manganese is commonly present in several cathode chemistries and can be recovered through controlled separation and precipitation steps.

Copper

Copper is present mainly from current collectors and battery components. It can be separated and recovered depending on the pre-processing and hydrometallurgical route.

Aluminum

Aluminum is commonly associated with cathode current collectors and battery casing fractions. Proper handling of aluminum improves process stability and product quality.
